About Us

The Mayer Quarter Horse Ranch continues to successfully breed, train horses and operate under the hard-work of myself Al Mayer and my wife Dorothy and Travis Nannenga. We have kids that have long grown up and moved out of state to chase different career opportunities. I've been around horses all my life and purchased my first registered quarter horse mares in 1948, and continue to raise and breed horses. My operation has grown considerably larger over the years. For many years our breeding herd consisted of one hundred broodmares and five stallions. It's been our life's work to breed and promote quality breeding stock and performance horses. With that being said, we are nearing 80 years of age, and reaching that point in our lives that we need to reduce the numbers in our herd to a more manageable level.
